Recreation Tourist Sites and Links Quick Facts about Standard Community Services

Tourist Sites

Sports Court, Ball Diamonds, Campground
Tennis is free in Standard and so is the use of the ball diamonds and playground adjacent to the campground. Campground facilities feature wheelchair accessible washrooms and showers plus an RV dumping station.

Sports day
If your visit is in June, join the festivities of the Annual Sports Day including pancake breakfast, parade, ball tournament, barbecue and dance.

Standard Cafe
A restaurant serving Chinese/Canadian cuisine might tempt you to relax for awhile.

Severn Dam
Seven miles north & 1.25 miles east on highway 840 will bring you to Severn Dam, where a fishing pole is all you need to while away a few hours.

Rosebud Theatre
Only 15 miles north on highway 849 is Rosebud Theatre, Alberta's only rural professional theatre offering four main stage productions a year as well as numerous Studio Stage features. Fabulous food, live entertaining music, quality theatre production, and entertainment with an enduring message. Open Wednesdays to Saturdays, March to December. Attendance is by reservation only.

The historic Rosebud Hotel and Mercantile look much the same as they did in their heyday in the 1920's and 30's.

There is so much to discover in this Prairie Surprise, such as the Akokiniskway Art Gallery, Rosebud Craft Shop, Centennial Museum, Akokiniskway Golf Course, Rosebud Country Inn, and a campground.
